Well hello family and friends! It has been exactly one week since I flew off to ATL for training camp! I am currently sitting on a couch outside of my room in Panajachel, Guatemala. Oh my goodness, the Lord has done some absolutely insane things. Not only has the Lord met with me in new and reviving ways, but he is also reminding me of the things he has always said about me and how faithful he is to bring his promises to completion, whether or not I see them. I was blessed with so many messages about the idea of “planting seeds” - read that again. I didn’t say seeing the seed grow. I didn’t say seeing fruit from the tree that the seed had grown from. I said “planting seeds” - being the person who comes along side of others, meets them right where they are at and just simply shows them who Jesus is through their actions. Through their love. I grew up thinking that evangelism had to end up with me “saving” someone on the street or getting an unbeliever to repent. But that isn’t it. That is never what Jesus told us we had to do, we are not responsible for other people’s salvation. The outcome is not our responsibility, the obedience is. But we are responsible for showing people who Christ is, and through acts of love, planting seeds. In 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 it says, “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” We are the reflections of the glory of the Lord, mirrors that display to others God’s light. Unlike Moses’ when he came down from the mountain after being with the Lord, our faces are unveiled. They are to be radiant with evidence that we meet with God. Shining for all to see.
I want to end every one of my blogs in this way from now on, with a question for you and a prayer request of mine. So first, is your face so radiant with knowing the Lord that others can tell a difference the moment they meet you? And secondly, I ask that you continue to pray for boldness in my life. That I would be unashamed about the one I live for.
??There will be more blog posts as this month continues and I cannot wait for you to play a part in what God is doing in Guatemala. ??
